. December 1, 2018. December 1, 2018. December 1, 2018 It’s a new day for Carmelo Anthony with the Houston Rockets and he would like it to be a more enjoyable day as well. “Just enjoy the game and play basketball I’ve been doing it for a long time,” Anthony said, via a report from the. “I still know how to do it. I’ve just got to make it fun.
The game just has to be fun.” Anthony spent one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, was traded to the Atlanta Hawks and made his way to the Rockets, courtesy of a one-year contract signed in August. He could come off the bench. He could start. He has said he’s looking forward to playing alongside Rockets stars James Harden and Chris Paul. This Anthony’s second run under Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni. The two were together with the New York Knicks. That didn’t go so well, but both men have insisted they’re excited their two-man band is back together.

Toledo Football Outlook: Rockets Aiming High in 2017 September 14th, 2017 Posted in The Rockets Coming off a nine-win season and with five All-MAC players back in the fold, the Toledo Rockets have high expectations for 2017.
“He’s a great basketball player, so we just try to make it optimal for him and us,”. “It’s always a little bit of a challenge, but if you had asked me the same question (last year) about James and Chris I would have said the same thing: ‘Well, it looks good. I’m excited.’ So same thing with him.”.
CITIZEN-TIMES PHOTO REYNOLDS – Expectations do not change at Reynolds no matter who graduates. Prevailing wisdom is that the defending Mountain Athletic Conference 3-A champions will take a step back this season. The Rockets have 13 returning starters (seven defense, six offense) from an 11-2 team that averaged 48.8 points per game. But the losses include the 2015 MAC Offensive Player of the Year (Rico Dowdle) and 2015 MAC Defensive Player of the Year (Aundreas Hill). Dowdle set a Western North Carolina record for single-season touchdown responsibility (63) and is now a newcomer at the University of South Carolina. Hill shepherded the defense with a team-high 159 tackles.
Rockets Aiming For Machine
He is an incoming freshman at Mars Hill. Last year, Reynolds won all six of its MAC games by double digits. “Those seniors did a lot of good things, but what most people overlook is that we were playing 35-38 players every Friday night,” Rockets coach Shane Laws said. “Our goals stay the same, whether we have a lot of returners or whether we don’t.
The biggest issue for us is we’re asking some kids to fill in for some really good players. They aren’t filling in for just anyone.
And we’re going to have to grow up fast playing two of the best teams in the state in our first two games (Aug. 19 at West Forsyth and Aug. 26 at home against Shelby).” Reynolds has three All-MAC players back from 2015 — lineman Jake Setterlind, running back Sean Jones and running back/safety Keyal Talbert. They will all be counted on to help in the development of first-year starting quarterback Nathan St. Onge (242 rushing yards, 124 passing yards and six combined touchdowns last season). Onge is a junior who has the unenviable task of running the Rockets' spread offense in the direct aftermath of Dowdle, who was the 2015 Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year. Laws said that last year's junior-varsity starting quarterback, Alex Flinn, is also making his case.
But the sophomore will likely start the season at tight end. Jones (431 yards, two touchdowns) will bear much of the rushing load, though the Rockets are moving Talbert (27 receptions for 352 yards and four touchdowns) to a more rushing-oriented position.
He will still be a threat to catch passes as will R'Mani Lynch (five receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns). Setterlind, Kyle McWhirt, Taylor Buckner and Austin Boyd were all either starters on the offensive line or put in heavy minutes last fall.
Reynolds has almost its entire defensive line back from last season. That group of blockers includes Leo Chavez, Frank Torres, Will Israel and Talon James. Linebacker is a position that is 'kind of up in the air,' Laws admits. Dowdle's younger brother, Dre, is expected to be a cornerback. Alexander Wall is one of the MAC's unsung heroes on special teams. He averaged 35.3 per punt with a long of 54 yards in 2015.
The senior started at tight end and wide receiver as well. 'He's a coach's dream,' Laws said. 'He's done absolutely everything you could ask of a kid in the offseason.' Note: The Citizen-Times will publish its annual Western North Carolina football preview in the Aug. 14 print edition.
